About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multi-discipline engineering organization supporting engineered-to-order electrical products within a manufacturing environment. This leader will be responsible for execution, performance, and development of engineering teams focused on low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution equipment.
The role combines hands-on operational leadership with a strong emphasis on people development, process improvement, and performance management. This individual will partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure engineering deliverables support production schedules, customer commitments, and long-term business growth.

Location
This position is on-site at a manufacturing facility in Humble, TX and requires a consistent on-site presence to collaborate with engineering, operations, supply chain, project management, quality, and commercial teams.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Execution & Delivery

  • Lead day-to-day engineering execution to ensure accurate, complete, and on-time engineering deliverables for engineered-to-order projects.

  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, project management, operations, supply chain, and quality to support production schedules and customer expectations.

  • Balance workload, capacity, and priorities across low- and medium-voltage engineering teams.

  • Proactively identify and remove barriers impacting throughput, quality, or delivery.

People Leadership & Development

  • Directly manage and coach engineering leaders overseeing low- and medium-voltage product lines.

  • Develop engineering talent through mentoring, training, performance feedback, and succession planning.

  • Foster a culture centered on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and retention of high-performing engineering professionals.

Process Improvement & Standardization

  • Lead initiatives to improve engineering workflows, handoffs, and processes to increase efficiency and scalability.

  • Drive design and product standardization to improve manufacturability, reduce complexity, and shorten engineering lead times.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, tools, and systems that support growth.

Metrics, Accountability & Performance Management

  • Establish and monitor key engineering performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, quality, rework, throughput, capacity utilization).

  • Use data-driven insights to identify improvement opportunities and strengthen accountability.

  • Implement operating rhythms and performance reviews aligned with business objectives.

Strategic Contribution

  • Support engineering strategy aligned with business growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide input on technology, tools, and systems investments to support scalable engineering operations.

  • Ensure engineering practices align with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 8+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.

  • 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including managing managers.

  • Experience scaling engineering organizations in a growth-oriented environment.

  • Strong understanding of power distribution equipment (low and/or medium voltage).

  • Proven success driving process improvement, standardization, and performance metrics.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
